We have been performing a lot of website upgrades during the past few months and have encountered several web hosting companies. I am not going to name anyone however I will say that despite company advertising some shared hosting companies stand out from the crowd. We primarily build on the WordPress platform and utilizing caching plugins and CDNs. I can say that implementing that combination of technologies is a scientific art! It takes experience and knowledge to make them work in different environments. If you aren’t satisfied with the results, do take action and move your site to another provider.
Finding the right hosting provider can take time. You have to research their offerings and understand your needs and expectations. For example, while one host may offer unlimited disk space and websites it doesn’t mean that they are the best one for you. I recommend choosing the middle ground. Pay a little extra for stability and performance but don’t break your budget either.
One major consideration is email. While there a advantages to using the free email service that is available on most cpanel hosted websites, it is cumbersome to migrate when changing hosts. I now recommend G-suite for email services. It is robust and reasonably priced. I started using G-suite when I became a WP Engine partner. Of all their features they do not include an email offering. It took a little while for me to accept using a third-party email provider but I am very pleased with everything that G-suite has to offer.
If you have any questions about hosting or email, please get in touch with us. We are readily available and there is never any obligation.
