When it comes to choosing a web host for your WordPress website, please choose wisely. Do not go with the cheapest host. Your website is an investment and so should your hosting plan. You should choose a web host that offers a plan that you can grow with. Your hosting environment should have enough resources to run your website according to WordPress recommendations.
Some important features to consider are email, staging, backups and security (SSL certificates). Not all hosts offer these. Consequently, you need to prioritize. Google Workspace and Outlook are excellent email service options that will work with any host. And, they are portable. Access to a staging environment is valuable for testing new releases of WordPress and new/updated plugins. Automated daily backups are excellent but can be substituted with a good backup plugin. Finally, getting a free SSL certificate will save you money.
In my fifteen years of web development, I have encountered many hosting environments. I have also formed some strong opinions about hosting companies in the United States. There are some standout companies. However, I also recognize that everyone has different needs.
If you are in the market for web hosting I strongly urge you to evaluate your requirements. If you would like a courtesy consultation, please get in touch. I am always happy to share my knowledge and experience. We offer WordPress optimized hosting too. More information can be found here.
