As a website owner you should be well underway to having your site ready for the holiday season. This is an imperative for online shops and equally important for brick and mortar or service businesses. This is the time to fine tune your website and ensure it is is well-tuned for the rush. Have you checked your speed rating on PageSpeed Insights? Have you checked your hosting capacity for more than usual site visitors? Can it handle the rush? Online shops using WooCommerce are especially sensitive. While performance is important, ensuring order accuracy is just as important so if you are using any caching tools, be careful that they are properly set. In particular sites using PayPal are sensitive to high traffic.
Another area to check is the deliverability of your website emails. Be sure the FROM address uses a domain address such as “[email protected]” or “[email protected]”. These email addresses do not have to be real accounts, they just have to match your domain name. You should also have DNS TXT records for SPF settings, DKIM and DMARC. These records add credibility to your domain with regard to email deliverability.
As always if you have any questions about the readiness of your website, feel free to get in touch with me. I am available for complimentary consultations.
