Free WordPress Website Audit — Manual Review by a 25-Year Expert
This isn’t an automated scan. Tim personally reviews every site, identifies what’s working and what isn’t, and delivers a written report with clear, prioritized recommendations. No sales pitch, no upsell pressure, no AI-generated noise. Just an honest expert assessment of where your WordPress site stands today.
Most “free website audits” aren’t audits
You’ve probably been offered “free audits” before — usually a PDF generated by an automated tool, lightly customized with your logo, full of generic recommendations that apply to every site on the internet. They’re cheap to produce, generate marketing leads, and provide almost no real value.
That’s not what we do.
A dot832 audit is a manual review. Tim personally opens your site, runs it through the real diagnostic tools we use on paying client work, and writes a customized report based on what he actually finds. The recommendations are specific to your site, your business, and your situation — not boilerplate.
This audit is genuinely useful even if you never become a dot832 client. That’s the point. We’d rather give you a clear, honest assessment of where you stand than spam you with sales follow-ups for a service you don’t need.
What the audit covers
Every audit covers the same eight areas — the same areas we examine on every paying client engagement.
- Design and User Experience Visual quality, navigation clarity, conversion path effectiveness, mobile experience, and visitor flow. We flag where the design is working and where it’s quietly losing visitors.
- Technical SEO Indexability, site structure, internal linking, metadata quality, schema markup, robots and sitemap configuration, and Core Web Vitals. We identify ranking-blocking issues before they cost you traffic.
- Performance Page speed, Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS), image optimization, caching configuration, and resource loading. Slow sites lose traffic and rankings — we measure both how slow yours is and why.
- Security Plugin vulnerabilities, update status, security configuration, login hardening, file permissions, and exposure to common WordPress attack vectors. Most compromised sites had warning signs that an audit would have caught.
- Accessibility Compliance with WCAG guidelines — color contrast, keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, and form accessibility. Accessibility failures expose you to legal risk and exclude potential customers.
- WordPress Health Plugin and theme quality, abandoned plugins, code bloat, database health, and update status. We identify what’s working, what’s risky, and what’s quietly dragging your site down.
- Mobile Experience Real-device mobile testing — not just “is it responsive?” but does it actually work well on phones? Tap targets, readability, performance on slower connections.
- Content and Conversion Content quality, on-page SEO, call-to-action effectiveness, and conversion path clarity. A good-looking site that doesn’t convert isn’t doing its job.
The deliverable: a written PDF report covering each area, with findings ranked by priority (critical / important / nice-to-have) and clear recommendations for what to do next. Typically 8–15 pages depending on what we find.
Optional follow-up: a 30-minute walkthrough call to discuss the report, answer questions, and clarify next steps. No sales pressure — most calls don’t end with a proposal.
Who should request an audit
We do roughly 4-6 audits per month — limited by how much manual work each one requires. To make sure we use that capacity well, here’s who tends to benefit most from this offer:
An audit is great for:
- WordPress site owners who suspect something isn’t right — slow load times, declining traffic, security concerns, or a vague sense that the site is underperforming
- Organizations considering a redesign or rebuild and want an objective expert assessment before committing to a project
- Anyone inheriting a WordPress site from a previous developer, agency, employee, or contractor and needs to know what they actually have
- Site owners who’ve been told they need a Care Plan and want to validate whether that’s true before signing up
- Businesses experiencing specific problems — slow pages, security incidents, ranking drops, broken functionality — and need diagnosis before they can solve them
An audit is not a good fit if:
- You’re on Squarespace, Wix, or another non-WordPress platform (but feel free to inquire about a migration consultation instead)
- You’re looking for an SEO content/keyword audit (we focus on technical SEO; for content strategy, we partner with a specialist we can refer you to)
- You don’t actually own or operate the site you’re submitting
If you’re not sure whether you’re a fit — submit anyway. We’ll let you know honestly if there’s no value we can add.
How it Works
- You submit the form. Site URL, your contact info, and a brief description of your situation or what you’re hoping to learn. The more context you give, the more useful the audit.
- We confirm and queue your audit. You’ll get an email confirmation within one business day. If we can’t deliver on the offer for any reason — capacity is tight, your site is outside our wheelhouse, anything else — we’ll tell you immediately rather than waste your time.
- Tim personally reviews your site. Manual review across all eight areas. We use the same diagnostic tools, security scanners, and performance analyzers we use on paying client work. Typical review takes 2–4 hours of focused expert time.
- You receive the written report. PDF report delivered within 5–7 business days. Prioritized findings, specific recommendations, and plain-English explanations — not jargon.
- (Optional) Walkthrough call. If you want to discuss the findings, we’ll schedule a 30-minute call to walk through the report, answer questions, and clarify next steps. Most calls don’t lead to a proposal — and that’s fine. We’d rather build a relationship than push a sale.
Why is this free?
Honest answer: because doing high-quality audits is the best way for us to start a relationship with the kinds of clients we want to work with.
Most prospects can’t tell from a website whether an agency is genuinely good or just well-marketed. A real audit shows our depth, our judgment, and our communication style in a way that no sales pitch ever could. Some audit recipients become clients. Many don’t — and that’s fine. The ones who do become clients are dramatically better-qualified than leads from any other source.
The flip side: because the audits are real expert work, we can only do so many per month. The form below qualifies for fit so we use that capacity well. If we’re slammed, we may ask you to wait — or politely decline if we’re not the right team for your situation.
